Judo goes Orient Becomes Team85

Judo goes Orient has a new name: from now on we are Team85. Same crew, same spirit, same idea — adventure with a purpose. What is new is the name, and what is new is our next big goal.

Why “85”? The 85 has always been our start number, whatever the discipline. From the judo tatami to the wheel of a scrap car: 85 stays 85. After the two Allgäu-Orient rallies in 2016 and 2021, it was clear to us that there were more stories to be written under this name. Hence the fresh coat of paint — and this new website.

Our next adventure: the Baltic Sea Circle 2027

This time we are not heading for the Orient but for the far north: once around the Baltic Sea. 16 days, some 7,500 kilometres, nine countries, up to the North Cape, across the Arctic Circle and the midnight sun, and back through the Baltic states.

And very much in the old style: no motorways, no hotels, no GPS — but a car worth less than 1,111 francs. We start on 12 June 2027 in Hamburg.

The seasoned crew behind judogoesorient.ch is on board again, with one or two new faces, fresh drive and new ideas.

We drive for a good cause

As always, we are not driving for the adventure alone. Our donation partner for 2027 is the Kinderhilfe Sternschnuppe foundation. It grants heartfelt wishes to children and young people in Switzerland who live with an illness or a disability. It is about moments that last: joy, variety, adventure, and a smile that gives strength.
